Studio Bio

Edinburgh Science Festival will be having an exhibit at The National Museum of Scotland called ‘Studio Bio’. The theme of the festival is ‘Shaping the future’ and will be exploring how sustainable biomaterials can be used in art and design. I will be designing and making a costume for dance that incorporates sustainable materials and has links to science and climate change. The costume will be showcased at a ‘Museum Lates’, ‘Studio Bio’, after hours event.
I intend to use biomaterials and natural dyes in my design and final costume. Natural dyes and materials from other plants or animals may be used in the design or making of this costume but the primary focus will be on fungi and its many uses. The costume is inspired by the indigo milk cap mushroom.
